KNOWLE
32678
Knowle is currently available for traffic. Presently
it is having repairs carried out on a cracked handbrake stanchion.
The engine is also exhibiting signs of wear after several years
of use. Both the leading axle and firebox are under observation
- the white metal situation being monitored in the former and
several corroded rivets in the latter. Whilst no definite dates
for steaming are currently to hand, it is intended Knowle,
along with P-class 1556, will work several turns at weekends
and in high summer on the Red timetable. These two engines are
also used on the railway experience days and details of these
may be found on the main K&ESR web site. With the potential
of two Terriers available for service in 2006, it is hoped definite
Terrier days can be publicised in advance.
