WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF THE TERRIER TRUST

Martello makes up the Famous Five
at Rolvenden

Just before 1700hrs today (May 04) was witnessed a quite unique sight at Rolvenden

Lined up on-shed were Terriers 32678 (Knowle), No.3 “Bodiam”, No.55 “Stepney” No.672 (Fenchurch) and No.662 “Martello”, smashing, it is believed by two, the record for the number of serviceable Terriers on the K&ESR at any one time

The sight of “Stepney” at Wittersham Road two days can only be described as surreal.
It is a shocking statistic but almost anyone who can remember it in service on the line in the old days must surely be retired

It can now be confirmed to prospective visitors this weekend that all the Terriers will face north/east with the exception of “Stepney”. Please note that due to the fragile state of this locomotive, the amount of actual work it will do is going to be somewhat limited.

Charity No. 1050480

Reports are emanating from Rolvenden that following appearance on an RXD at the station last Tuesday, P-class No.753 has be failed and will therefore not take part in atgas06. By all accounts the engine will be substituted on the roster by Pannier 1638. Please check your copies of the WTT carefully to avoid disappointment

The weather forecast for the area this weekend is not good. Check the latest forecasts for TN30 6HE via the Met web site or the BBC

Avoid travelling on the morning departure of the Vintage Train if possible. It is still to be confirmed whether it will consist of four or five coaches. The Terrier Trust will be using two and a private party has booked a third

Generally speaking trains will be passing at both Northiam and Rolvenden throughout the weekend meaning that many more trains than usual will call at Wittersham Road. Both Northiam and Wittersham Road would be excellent places to join a train and avoid the inevitable crush at Tenterden Town

Check this website tomorrow night (Friday) or early Saturday for another update
